Patterson

Overview

Patterson is a suburb community in the city of Vaughan that is comprised of Dufferin Hills, Thornberry Woods, Thornhill Woods, Upper Thornhill Estates and the Valleys of Thornhill. Most of the homes in Patterson are detached two-storey homes and townhouses, making this suburban neighbourhood ideal for families.

Patterson is a commuters dream, with easy access to highways 407, 400 and 7, making travel to anywhere in the greater Toronto area or even Barrie easily accessible.

Baker's Woods

Baker's Woods is one of the last remaining sections of old-growth forest in Southern Ontario, with some of the maples reaching 240 years old.

Jonathan Baker bought 200 acres in 1816, building the red brick house, shown in the picture, in 1853. Jonathan Baker's descendants maintained 100 of the acres of this woodlot as a sugar bush until they sold the property in 1997. The Jonathan Baker House was taken into public ownership, and can still be viewed today.
