History

Parry Sound and the surrounding area is probably most popularly known for being one of the destinations for the famed Canadian artist group “The Group of Seven” in the early twentieth century. It’s no surprise that the scenery of the area captured the imagination of many artists throughout the past few centuries.

Parry Sound is also the birthplace of hockey legend Bobby Orr, one of the most recognizable names ever to put on a pair of skates.
